Browser share dialog explained

When you click REC with "System audio" selected, the browser shows this dialog. Correct operation is crucial.

Steps:

  1. Choose what to share (select "Entire screen" to capture all system audio).
  2. Check the "Share system audio" box at the bottom (wording may vary).
  3. Click "Share" to start recording.

⚠️ Without that audio checkbox, you'll get no sound or a failed recording.

Frequently Asked Questions

how to record MP3?
Currently, this tool supports exporting to WEBM (original quality) and WAV (lossless). If you need MP3 format, we recommend exporting to WAV first and then using our audio converter tool to convert it. We plan to support direct MP3 export in future versions – stay tuned!
How do I record system audio?
Select "System audio" as source and click REC. In the browser share dialog, pick any share target (e.g. entire screen) and make sure to check "Share system audio" at the bottom. Confirm to start.
Why can't I capture system sound?
Most likely you forgot to check the "Share audio" checkbox in the popup. Also, macOS needs BlackHole installed; Firefox does not support system audio – use Chrome/Edge.
What options appear in the share dialog?
You'll see three tabs: "Chrome Tab", "Window", "Entire screen". Choose any, but you must check the "Share system audio" box at the bottom, then click Share.
Which export formats are available?
In settings you can select auto‑export: WEBM (original) or WAV (lossless). Without auto‑export, recordings stay in the list for later manual export.
How to use scheduled stop?
Fill a number in "Scheduled stop" and choose unit (sec/min/hour). E.g. 5 + minutes = stop after 5 minutes. 0 or empty = manual stop.
